Anniversary Excitement Doubles for DocHop!
May 25, 2022 marks a special anniversary in the life of “MultiPlatform Professional’ Dr. Wayne C. Hopkins. For two years now, Hopkins - known alternately as “DocHop” has brought Entertainment, Enterprise and the Enticement of the written and spoken word to a growing audience of clients, customers and members of his “GramFam” of Instagram followers.
Launching in the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the DocHopEnt.com website was designed as an online home base for Hopkins as he completed his doctoral studies at New York Theological Seminary. After years of intense study and writing, he initially considered starting a new post-doctoral degree program immediately, but it became clear as the world locked down to avoid the Corona Virus, that he would do better to provide services for others bases on his variety of corporate, educational and creative professional experiences. in his weekly Instagram broadcast “TheCONVERSATION with DocHop” he also tackles real issues that face modern professionals. Incidentally, DocHop’s anniversary is shared with Wayne’s actual birthday, and the unfortunate coincidental anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, The political unrest set off by the Floyd incident was instrumental in DocHop’s ongoing commitment to speak out for racial justice, and preparing people to make their voice heard in the midst of the world’s chaos. Dr. Hopkins firmly believes that “Your Words Matter,” and deserve to be heard.
Having been a producer of television and film, then morphing into the corporate space, Wayne Hopkins always found comfort in occupying multiple spaces. This also helped him to maintain a comfortable lifestyle in the relentlessly expensive market of Greater Los Angeles. For decades he was known to always have a full time job, a part time job, then what he calls “My time” during which he would explore personal interests, and find ways to monetize them. At the core, DocHopEnt.com was more than a website. It was a place for other MultiPlatform professionals (a term Hopkins personally coined) to connect and get support for merging their creative and career-oriented talents and spin them off into the entrepreneurial space. What is a “MultiPlatform Professional,” you may ask? It is a reference to the people who have both a job and a dream. Currently Dr. Hopkins owns a number of professional occupations, including: Educator (teaching creative writing at UCLA Recreation), Pastor (of the First Timothy Missionary Baptist Church), Corporate Manager (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network), Author (E-Book bundle available on the website), and Entrepreneur.
Essentially, DocHopEnt is a premier communications firm, assisting people in finding their unique voice. Navigating their personal narrative into the spaces they desire to occupy. The move from cubicle to corner office can be fraught with misunderstanding and mis-steps, so why not learn viable skills before launching out into the great unknown. This has especially been helpful for people who have stories to tell, but need help with their writing and editing skills. On the entrepreneurial side, DocHop felt it necessary to assist entrepreneurs with putting their best foot forward, after seeing a few too many business advertisements riddled with poor spelling, bad grammar, and overall lacking presentation. “I’d rather disrupt your feelings than see you miss a sale because customers think you don’t know better…” Hopkins says.
Since launching the site 2 years ago, DocHop’s offerings have expanded to include e-books, editorial literary services, educational programming, professional development and coaching/consulting. As an ordained pastor, Doc is also no stranger to public speaking, and is especially fond of working with people to develop their public/professional voice for maximum impact. Looking ahead, Doc is preparing to launch a variety of new ebooks, along with more specialized offerings to his existing menu of services. “At the end of the day, I thank God for making me this unique creature that is always busy, never bored and willing to help someone else enjoy their journey just a bit better.
Following a bout of Covid, Hopkins plans to spend the remainder of this 2nd anniversary celebration developing his newest services: Time Management, and Self Care accountability, wherein he shares lessons learned the hard way - in hopes that clients (family-members, as he calls them) will avoid some of the lessons he learned the hard way. Cheers to DocHop for 2 amazing years, and many more to come!
